The picture of the world in a person is formed throughout his life: in the child it is one, in an adult – the other. And those illusions that supported us in childhood in an older age can only interfere. Consider the most common of them.
1. “The wizard will suddenly arrive in a blue helicopter and shows a movie for free”
One of the illusions in adulthood is not a passing expectation that a person will certainly appear in life who will make us happy and solve all the problems. However, dream is one thing, but setting specific goals and gradually to achieve them is completely different.
This illusion threatens an infantile life position that is able to block the development of any person.
2. Success is just luck
In this case, someone else’s success is depreciated and, accordingly, the efforts that a person made to achieve the desired result. The fact that others achieve their goals seems unfair to someone. He experiences negative emotions in the form of envy and resentment, which means he simply spends his energy. Believe me: the fact that successful people “falls from the sky” is an illusion.
3. Everyone owes me
There are people who, even in adulthood, are convinced that everyone should. At first they demand the fulfillment of their desires from their parents, then from friends, teachers, classmates, and later from spouses.
The sooner a person understands that people around him have the right to their own choice, the easier it is for him to go through life, hoping and relying primarily on himself. So self -sufficiency develops.
4. When I get everything you need, I will gain happiness
There is a confusion between the concepts of joy and happiness. The person is convinced: “I will build a house and finally become happy” or “I will marry and gain happiness”.
However, receiving what is desired, we experience only temporary satisfaction. To be truly happy, you need to have appropriate thinking, which will always and everywhere find points of support. In fact, happiness does not depend on the circumstances.
5. Money can solve everything
Money, of course, give enormous opportunities, make us more free. But they (without our own work on themselves) cannot solve all our problems. And therefore, leaving for such an illusion, people risk at some point to be very disappointed.
6. Money is evil
Another extreme is a neglect of money. In this case, a person, on the contrary, downs the importance of money and eventually begins to avoid it, considering it “dirty”. Needless to say, such an illusion leads to low quality of life?
7. Parents are always right
This is the illusion of those who never happened complete separation from parents. This installation leads to the fact that it is difficult for us to separate from parents at emotional, functional and value levels.
The constant need for the approval of parents is an extremely dependent life position. Freed from the illusion, we will get the opportunity to take responsibility for ourselves, make independent decisions and defend our point of view.
8. I must be good for everyone
This illusion is very energy -consuming, because it will not work to be good for everyone, no matter how you try. Each of us has its own system of values and the picture of the world, which means that we will always have both supporters and opponents, and this is absolutely normal.
The presence of this illusion leads to vulnerability, dependence on someone else’s opinion, as well as perfectionism. A person will constantly spend his energy in order to
please someone and be upset if this does not happen. Work on self -esteem will help to return control to your hands.
9. Life is endless
It may seem to us that it is still ahead, which means that you can spend time on unnecessary, minor things, delay important matters, postpone decision -making, in other words – procrastinate.
This illusion should be afraid, because at the dawn of life a great disappointment can comprehend, as well as regret on the years in vain.
10. It’s too late for me to start something
An illusion that has similar consequences with the previous one, with the only difference being that it is based on a person’s fear of moving forward.
Liberation from any illusions is a difficult process, sometimes even painful. However, building a new, more mature picture of the world makes a holistic, self -sufficient person out of a person, who has every chance of living a full, bright, happy life.
