Tale
A Montana ranching family confronts others trespassing on their land… Forry J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and revert to the SoCal voice he usually uses.. Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows That Aren’t On Your Radar (2018).
Kevin Costner is the patriarch running a dynastic ranch the size of some countries
His way of life has been encroached upon by resort developers, tribal rights and Montana state power. Reminiscent of Rock Hudson in “Giant”, he tries to stick to the old ways. "Yellowstone" moves quickly with little introduction, but his story unfolds with the natural rhythm of a day in the desert, pausing for tribal rituals, cowboy conventions, and political machinations. It’s a massive undertaking that sits at the seams between law and justice, family and friendship.
Land and family are his blood
Costner fills his character’s boots naturally, it seems. He is a world-weary man who has seen too much and lied too often. He can hear footsteps coming toward him, but he can only fulfill his role out of habit as much as loyalty. Although some actions are a little confusing due to lack of explanation, the feeling is natural, as if the viewer is getting a real slice of life, a glimpse into another world.
I raise my rating to "9"
