Eva (Odessa Young), a 19th-century widow, is tasked with making an impossible choice when a shipwreck occurs off the coast of her isolated fishing village in the middle of a particularly brutal winter. Eva and her crew must choose to save the shipwrecked or survive the winter with their last provisions. Confronted with the consequences of their choices and plagued by their guilt, the inhabitants grapple with a growing sense of fear, beginning to believe that they are all being punished for their choices.
