from songs by heavy metal/hard rock bands
Tale
Follows a group of struggling outcasts at a heavy metal high school who use the town’s sudden interest in the occult to build a reputation as a satanic metal band, until a strange series of events sparks a witch hunt that brings them back. Def Lepard’s Hysteria, KISS’s Heaven’s on Fire, Meatloaf’s Speaking in Languages, Iron Maiden’s Can I Play with Madness, Black Sabbath’s Die Young, Danzig’s Mother, Queen’s It’s Late, and Ghost’s Dance Macabre.
At least I hope so
This show captured 1989, the Satanic Panic, and the style of all those old supernatural horror movies to the ‘T’. I suspected that when the network saw it, they asked them to edit in a few minor shots that might reveal what was a possible ending, so they could do a second season.
Hats off to the producers, directors, and writers
But having lived through that time, I can say they did it very well. Even though it’s not a comedy, it made me laugh at all the nods to other films in the genre, which reminded me of Stranger Things in a way, but they limited the jump scares, blood, nudity, and ultra violence, and I still had a good show.

PS: the cast is all good, and this is Brice Campbell’s 2nd best role after Bubba Ho Tep. is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
